Business & Biodiversity

Biodiversity is good for Business. Business is good for Biodiversity.

We were honoured to have Minister Eugenie Sage as key note speaker at our Biodiversity and Business event on 9 October 2018. The Minister said, "Increasingly biodiversity is coming to the boardroom, in businesses which recognise that measuring success is as much about ensuring the business contributes to social and environmental wellbeing as it is about bottom line profitability. We need a strong spirit of kaitiakitanga to safeguard nature on which so much of our economy depends".

Des Ratima, ONZM, JP, and Evelyn Ratima opened the event with a moving pōwhiri and the 100 strong crowd heard from a range of speakers including Stuart Ainslie, CEO, Hawke’s Bay Airport, Paul Atkins, CEO, Zealandia (Wellington), Associate Professor Eva Collins, Acting Director of NZ Institute of Business Research, University of Waikato, John and Jay Benton, Environmental Leaders and sponsors of restoration work at A’Deanes Bush in Central Hawke’s Bay, and our Chair Charles Daugherty.
