Come and check out this beautiful piece of montane podocarp hardwood forest that has been recently deer fenced and holds one of the world’s largest cabbage trees.

In the afternoon join us for a pest control presentation and chance to learn how to use many of the different traps and other tools used to control introduced predators.

Agenda for the day

8.45am - Meet at The Puketapu (679 Puketapu Road, Western Hills, Napier) if you would like to carpool to Little Bush, otherwise we will see you at the Little Bush carpark at 10.00am

9.00am - Car pool departs The Puketapu

10.00am - Welcome

10.30am - Guided bushwalk and information sharing

12.30pm - BYO lunch and drinks

1.00pm - Pest and predator control talks and demonstrations

2.30pm - Informal question and answer session

3.00pm - Depart Little Bush

4.00pm - Car pool arrives at The Puketapu

What to bring

BYO food and refreshments. Wear sturdy walking shoes and bring clothes for all possible weather conditions on the day, including a hat and sunscreen. A basic health and safety kit will be on site, but please bring along any specific medications you may require on the day.
